Cultural Work
Cultural work, work for the culture…
There are artists of all disciplines who contribute: poets who write about freedom, dancers who dance to freedom, musicians who play with freedom. We all are trying to get the word out, or in, that a call for freedom connects all of us. Without a sense of connection, our work is irrelevant to the growth of our community. Cultural work nurtures us all by demanding that we all listen to one another and act on a belief in our better selves. We, of course, can’t do this work without putting ourselves on the line in some way, by challenging ourselves as performers to present art forms that come out of an authentic expression that often has no specific category, because our experiences and influences are so richly interconnected.
